The older you get, the more wrinkles seem to appear on your face. Though some say they are the sign of a life well-lived, that doesn't stop people from hating them. Women, especially, like to hide them and cover them up so they aren't visible. Hiding wrinkles is often believed to make one appear younger.

Common Causes of Wrinkles

Taking good care of your body can help keep your skin firmer. This will not only reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but help you stay healthier, and keep your skin from sagging.

As the elasticity in skin decreases, your skin sags and causes wrinkles. Elasticity disintegrates as a lack of moisture in the skin. As the fat in your face decreases, the skin, which usually appears plump and full, loses its fullness. What are some things that further this process?

Several Ways to Reduce Wrinkles

At some point, everyone gets wrinkles. But there are lots of ways to put off the process as long as possible. Some are easy, like drinking more water, not smoking, sleeping well and staying out of the sun as much as possible. According to Web MD, over-exposure to the sun is the top cause of wrinkles. Here are several other ways to reduce the problem:

*Don't squint. Get glasses or contacts if you need them, even if you only need them for reading. *Use moisturizer. Before you put on makeup, go into the sun or go to bed, make sure your skin is moisturized appropriately. *Choose healthy foods. Fruits, vegetables and fish make your body produce antioxidants and proteins that keep you health and reduce wrinkles. *Vitamin C. Vitamin C is not only necessary for normal growth, but it helps reduce the appearance of crow's feet and other creases in your face. *Remove your makeup, but don't wash your face too much. Removing makeup is important because not doing so can cause other blemishes, but washing your face overly much dries out the skin and agitates the lack of elasticity in your face.
